Fed: Aust delegate toeing Howard line on climate - Greenpeace

Greenpeace has accused Australia's delegation to climate change talks in Bangkok of
turning the clock back to the HOWARD era by failing to back binding greenhouse targets.

The environment group says Australian delegation leader JAN ADAMS has reverted to HOWARD
government rhetoric of supporting US-style .. long-term aspirational goals .. rather than
binding targets.

Negotiators from more than 160 nations are taking part in the first round of UN-led
talks since last December's Bali meeting .. to advance plans for a new global greenhouse
treaty.
