SA:Jury to resume in Fabian Francis trial
A jury will resume deliberations today in the wife-beating trial of former AFL footballer
FABIAN FRANCIS.
He's been charged with 20 abuse-related crimes against his former wife DEBRA BUCKSKIN
between 1998 and 2011.
Prosecutor MARK NORMAN has told the District Court, Ms BUCKSKIN endured years of abuse
at the hands of her jealous, controlling and cruel husband.
Mr NORMAN says Ms BUCKSKIN considered herself a proud Aboriginal woman who suffered
emotional terrorism.
But defence counsel DAVID STOKES says Ms BUCKSKIN abused and hit 37-year-old FRANCIS,
allegedly punching his teeth out, and fixed him up with a golf club after she suspected
him of affairs.
The jury of nine women and three men retired to consider their verdict yesterday and
resume this afternoon.
