NSW: Woman, 80, dead and man in hospital after truck collision

SYDNEY, Dec 1 AAP - An elderly woman is dead and her husband in hospital after their
car and a semitrailer collided in Sydney's southwest.

The couple's Toyota sedan crashed into the side of the semitrailer, travelling in the
opposite direction on Governor Macquarie Drive at Chipping Norton, at about 2.45pm (AEDT)
yesterday.

The 80-year-old driver and his 80-year-old wife were taken to Liverpool Hospital, but
she died a short time later.

The man remains in hospital with a fractured sternum.

The 44-year-old driver of the semitrailer was not injured in the collision.

Police have called on anyone who witnessed the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
