Fed: Australia rejects UK plans for nuke waste dump
Australia has rejected a reported British plan to build a dump for high level nuclear waste
in the outback.
A spokeswoman for Industry Science and Resources Minister NICK MINCHIN says the
government's position is clearly against such a scheme.
She says she isn't aware of any approach from the British government-owned British Nuclear
Fuels which has reportedly put nearly $A13 million into developing the project.
