Santana sets goal of making music that touches souls

While a crowd of more than 300,000 might make some performerssweat like a thief in church, Carlos Santana used it to become aninternational sensation.

Three months before his first album was released in 1969,Santana entered the spotlight with a searing performance atWoodstock, combining blues and rock with the Latin music he learnedat his father's knee.

"Santana," released four months after Woodstock, sold more than1 million copies. So did his next five albums after that. In all,he has released 25 albums, including his newest, "Spirits Dancing inthe Flesh."
