NT: Falconio witness warned he may be in contempt
A witness in the hearing into the alleged murder of British packpacker PETER FALCONIO
has been warned he could be charged with contempt of court if he doesn't answer questions.
Forty-five-year-old BRADLEY JOHN MURDOCH is facing a committal hearing in Darwin Magistrates
Court charged with the murder of the British tourist.
He's also charged with the unlawful assault and deprivation of liberty of Mr FALCONIO's
girlfriend JOANNE LEES.
Magistrate ALASDAIR MCGREGOR told 44-year-old DARRYL CRAGAN he would find him in contempt
of court if he refused to answer questions.
Mr CRAGAN had refused to answer any more questions after earlier telling the court
he'd known MURDOCH all his life, at one stage had lived together in Broome and had travelled
together between Broome and South Australia.
MURDOCH shook his head repeatedly during the examination.
Mr CRAGAN has since agreed to continue giving evidence.
