Qld: Six dead in horror night on Qld roads
BRISBANE, Aug 3 AAP - Six people have been killed in a horror night on Queensland roads,police said today.
Three people were killed instantly when their mazda sports car was driven off BostonRoad at Belmont, on Brisbane's southside, about 12.40am (AEST), police said.
The car burst into flames in bushland about 80m off the road and police have not yetbeen able to identify the victims.
A 31-year-old female passenger was killed when the car she was travelling in hit aguard rail on Tantivy Road, Tivoli, west of Brisbane, about 11.15pm (AEST), police said.
The 22-year-old driver will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning chargedwith dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
Meanwhile, two male passengers, aged 18 and 19, were killed in a single vehicle accidentin the Herberton Ranges in far north Queensland about 2am (AEST), police said.
It appeared the driver lost control of the car, which slammed into a tree, on HerbertonRoad, police said.
The driver, whose details have not been released, survived the crash and is in a stablecondition in Atherton Hospital.
